Building Bridges

Hair stylists and other beauty care professionals contend with similar conditions to those nail salon workers face: poor ventilation, small businesses, exposures to an array of chemicals, and occupational-related health problems.

Given these shared issues, this taskforce is focused on outreaching and partnering with other cosmetology and beauty care sectors (including African American hair salons, Latino salons and other beauty care worker populations) to promote a healthier image of beauty in order to reduce occupational exposures across the broader cosmetology sector.

The Collaborative recently co-hosted “A Healthy Hair Affair” in Oakland to launch a new brochure called “Techniques to Achieve Naturally Healthy Hair”. Download your copy of the brochure!
