    The Outreach and Education subcommittee brings together organizations that are doing direct outreach, education and/or organizing with the nail salon community to share ideas and plan strategies to further promote their needs. Ideas and strategies include community outreach, leadership development, media outreach, community forums, and regional worker/owner advisory committees.  The worker and owner advisory committees provide important feedback and guidance to the Collaborative’s efforts to make sure that the work represents the needs of the community.

    In 2011 the Collaborative released a groundbreaking report, Toxic Beauty No More! Health and Safety of Vietnamese Nail Salon Workers in Southern California, highlighting findings from a community report sharing the health and working conditions of nail salon workers in Southern California.

    The Collaborative also provides direct outreach and education to nail salon workers and owners. If you would like more information or a training on health and safety in the workplace or have any questions, please contact:
