Jane Lê

Policy and Research Coordinator, She/Her

Jane is a proud daughter of immigrant parents and a nail salon worker. Born in Vietnam, she is fluent in Vietnamese and her family immigrated to the United States when she was seven years old. Growing up as a 1.5 generation Vietnamese American, Jane always felt connected to her culture and community. She originally wanted to pursue graduate studies in Medieval Vietnamese history, but has pivoted to utilize her knowledge and fluency to advocate for her community. Throughout her life, Jane has lived in various regions in Southern California and has knowledge of neighborhoods in Los Angeles County, the Inland Empire, Orange County, and San Diego County.

Prior to joining CHNSC, Jane previously worked for several non-profit organizations focused on U.S. diplomacy, grassroots organizing, community advocacy, and cultural story-telling. She also worked for a Member of Congress, working in and around the issues of AANHPI, environment, education, energy, housing, and immigration. She began her public and community service career as an Administrative Coordinator for the Vietnamese American Arts & Letters Association (VAALA), so it is full circle to return to Orange County to continue her passion in serving her community. She hopes to bring her life and work experience to support nail salon workers in seeking labor, health, and environmental justice and to give back to the community and industry that have raised her.

Jane received her Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of California in Riverside and her Master of Public Administration from California State University at Northridge with a specialization in non-profit management. She enjoys trying out different cooking and baking recipes, reading, hiking, and exploring parks and museums with her family.
